5 Simple Ways to Protect Your Mental Wellness This May

This May, Let’s Make Mental Wellness a Priority.

May is Mental Health Awareness Month, a time set aside every year to break the stigma surrounding mental health, ignite conversations, and remind ourselves that our emotional health is just as important as our physical health.

You don’t need a complete life re-vamp or overhaul to start feeling better. Small, intentional habits can make a real difference. Here are 5 practice tips to help you protect and nurture your mental wellness.

1. Reach Out to Someone Close to You

Connection is one of the most powerful mental health tools. Text an old friend, call a family member, have lunch with a co-worker.

2. Limit Time Spent on Social Media

We're all guilty of spending a little too much time scrolling. Try setting up time limits for yourself.

3. Move Your Body

Exercise releases endorphins, which are your brain's natural stress-relievers.

4. Stay Well Rested

Give your brain and body the break it deserves with rest and prioritize a healthy sleep schedule.

5. Ask For Help When You Need It

Seeking support is a sign of strength. Whether it's a friend, parent, support group, or a mental health professional, you are not alone.

Mental Health Awareness Month is a reminder that taking care of your mind is an ongoing practice, not a one-time fix. Try starting with one tip from this list and choose progress over perfection.
