More about TMS therapy

What is TMS therapy? TMS is an FDA-cleared, non-drug, non-invasive therapy for the treatment of Major Depressive Disorder (CAD) and Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD). Using the same magnetic technology found in MRI machines, TMS therapy stimulates the areas of the brain responsible for mood. TMS provides depression symptom relief for about two-thirds of people (62 percent) who try it after antidepressants have proven ineffective.

How long is TMS therapy treatment? TMS therapy treatments are performed five days a week for six to nine weeks. Each TMS session takes 18-45 minutes while you remain seated in a comfortable chair at our private center.

Is there downtime after TMS? No, you can leave immediately following a TMS session and resume your normal daily activities with zero downtime. With most patients reporting no side effects or only minor discomfort (headache) after TMS, you can get back to school or work right away.

More about nasal esketamine treatment

What is nasal esketamine? Nasal esketamine is the only FDA-approved ketamine-based psychedelic treatment for depression and is covered by many major insurance companies.

What should I expect during a nasal esketamine treatment session? Each session takes place at our private, spa-like Greenbrook Greenbelt center. Once you arrive, you'll sit in a chair and self-administer the nasal spray. During treatment, you may feel dizzy, euphoric, or intoxicated. Afterwards, you'll be groggy and woozy. You have to stay in our center for no less than two hours, during which our Care Team will be on-site to assist you. Make sure you have someone to drive you home afterwards.

How long is nasal esketamine treatment? A typical course of treatment takes place in four phases over the course of 24-26 sessions. We typically schedule esketamine nasal spray treatments in the afternoon to accommodate your schedule. You'd come into our Greenbelt center during the afternoon and get treated, go home, have dinner, then go to bed. By the next morning, most people are ready to resume their day with no restrictions.
