Dr. Emily Wu

Psyciatrist

Dr. Emily Wu has been working in the field of psychiatric disorders and neurocognitive disorders for more than 10 years. Dr. Wu is board certified in American Board of Neurology and Psychiatry and the National Board of Physicians and Surgeons. She completed residency training in General Psychiatry at University of Texas at Houston and has been trained at one of the largest psychiatric hospitals in the nation during her residency training. She also obtained a Ph.D. in Biomedical Science at University of Texas at Houston.

Dr. Wu has been involved in neuromodulation treatment including deep Transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) at Houston Mind and Brain, and transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS) as well as Electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) at University of Texas at Houston to treat mood and neurocognitive disorders for many years. She is also a physician with a passion for research with long-term goal of advancing research in mental disorders particularly in neurocognitive disorders.

Dr. Wu has published numerous peer review publications. She is a committee member of multiple prestigious societies including American Society of Clinical Psychopharmacology, American Academy of Addiction Psychiatry and Texas Society of Psychiatry Physicians Academic Committee.

In particular, she has received multiple nationally competitive awards including American Association Research Colloquium for Junior Investigators, American Academy of Addictive Medicine Ruth Fox Scholarship, American Academy of Addiction Psychiatry Travel fellowship, American Society of Clinical Psychopharmacology Clinical Trail Workshop Fellowship and American Society of Clinical Psychopharmacology New Investigator Award. She is also a reviewer for multiple scientific journals. Her work has involved exploring mechanisms and developing novel treatments for psychiatric disorders.
