Dr. Timothy Lacy

Psychiatrist 

Dr. Timothy Lacy joined Greenbrook in October of 2025. He earned his medical degree from Texas A&M University College of Medicine and trained in Psychiatry at University of Texas Health Sciences Center at San Antonio. Dr. Lacy developed and directed the National Capital Consortium Military Combined Residency Program in Family Practice and Psychiatry and created novel neuroscience and neuropsychiatry educational programs. Dr. Lacy has provided inpatient and outpatient care as a military psychiatrist and private practitioner with over 30 years in a variety of hospitals and clinics. He has experience across a broad range of populations including inner city, veteran, forensic, and developing world patients.


Dr. Lacy also served as Chief of Telehealth, Enterprise Imaging, and Cybermedicine for the U.S. Air Force where he deployed the military’s largest virtual reality system for the treatment of PTSD. He has been a consultant to the Army Telemedicine and Technology Research Center (TATRC), and a member of the NATO Medical Communication/Information Systems & Telemedicine Expert Panel. His current work in technology includes developing virtual reality, acoustic, and robotics solutions for stroke, autism, and mood disorders.


He has been honored with numerous awards for his teaching and writing, and has over 90 peer-reviewed academic articles, book chapters, posters, abstracts and presentations. He is currently an Assistant Clinical Professor of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences.
