Greenbrook's very own Dr. Niku Singh, Medical Director for our Tyson's Corner center in McLean, Virginia, was recently featured on Top Doctors Medical Minute. During this segment, Dr. Sing gives an overview of the history of Trasncranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) Therapy and descrives what a typical course of treatment looks and feels like. Dr. Singh also discusses the difference between TMS Therapy and Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT) as well as the side effects that are commonly associated with both ECT and medication therapy. These symptoms include memory loss, weight gain, insomnia, dry mouth, upset stomach, and sexual dysfunction.

Dr. Niku Singh joined Greenbrook TMS NeuroHealth Centers in 2011 as Medical Director of the Tysons Corner location where he treats and oversees patient care. Dr. Singh’s interest and practice of TMS Therapy began during his earlier years in practice as founding Medical Director of Tysons Psychiatry where he continues to provide psychiatric care to local and international patients. He also continues to maintain his hospital work in both clinical and leadership capacities.
Combining his depth of knowledge in both neurobiology and chemistry to philosophical and psychological theories of the mind, Dr. Singh is an invited speaker nationally and lectures at major medical institutions on topics including schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, and psychopharmacology. Contributing to the greater community, Dr. Singh is involved in many philanthropic efforts and has worked pro bono for asylum seekers and multi-cultural integration efforts. Dr. Singh currently serves as Medical Director of Hopewell House for Independent Living, is Medical Director of Integrated Clinical Concepts, and is actively involved with Sagebrush Holistic Residential Center for Substance Abuse Treatment.
