Regional Patient Consultant/ Intake Coordinator (Mental Health) | Katy, TX

Full-time Patient Consultant (PC) position now available covering our Houston Region. The Patient Consultant is responsible for initial consultations where they meet with perspective patients to discuss what TMS is, how it works, what to expect, gather patient’s history and determine with relative certainty if the patient meet’s medical necessity prior to the patient meeting with our physicians.

We are seeking someone who is a therapist, preferably has a master's level education, and/or has multiple years of experience with patient intake in mental health or related fields.

This position works closely with management & physicians across multiple centers in the region throughout the week. They must possess exceptional organizational skills, be self-directed & motivated, have an ability to explain complex science & medical procedures so the common person can understand what they’re saying. The right person thinks quickly, with limited information, is able to solve complex problems daily and maintains stellar communication with all parties involved throughout the process. They rotate throughout the centers weekly ensuring adequate coverage to perform initial consultations throughout the sub-region.

Primary Responsibilities include:

  • Performing initial consultations with prospective patients
  • Possessing thorough knowledge of insurance criteria, allowable fees & an ability to explain this to patients
  • Providing treatment or assisting doctors & staff with patient care as needed
  • Obtaining authorization from the respective insurance companies
  • Maintaining compliance with Greenbrook’s & insurance payers policies & procedures
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master's degree preferred
  • A bachelor's degree in psychology, social work, neuroscience, or related field
  • At least 3 years of mental health, social work or related intake experience required
  • Knowledge of existing marketplace insurance payers & medical necessity guidelines

Preferred Experience and Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • 1-year TMS experience preferred
  • Supervisory
  • Billing software knowledge
  • Basic Life Support Certification

This position requires travel throughout Houston (1 center a day) Hours of operation are flexible and vary depending on our patients' needs (evenings and some weekends too.)
