We’re growing! Greenbrook TMS NeuroHealth Centers is pleased to announce the opening of our new location in Richmond, Virginia. Expanding into our third location enables us to create a more unified service with healthcare providers to deliver the highest quality of care for patients in the Richmond, VA area. Our new location has the pleasure of having Dr. William M. Sauvé as its new Medical Director.
“TMS Neurohealth Centers in Richmond is the first practice of its kind in the area. As the only practice in Richmond entirely dedicated to providing Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation, our vision is to make this exciting treatment an option for more people in the area than ever before,” announced Dr. Sauvé.
Dr. Sauvé grew up an athlete just north of Detroit in Canada. He pursued his MD at the Uniformed Services University of Health Sciences in Bethesda, Maryland and later entered the US Navy and began servicing as a psychiatrist with the US Marines and then in outpatient and inpatient clinics. One of the lessons a psychiatrist learns in the combat zone is the importance of being flexible in your thinking, and to rethink the idea of simply ‘seeing patients’ every fifteen minutes or so all day long, hence my excitement about new, procedure based treatments such as TMS”, explains Dr. Sauvé. “After separating from the Navy in 2011 I came to Richmond and started using TMS therapy to take care of active duty personnel suffering from posttraumatic stress disorder and substance use disorder getting very encouraging results.” Dr. Sauvé then partnered up with some colleagues with the goal of bringing TMS to the entire Richmond area. “Joining with TMS Neurohealth is a giant step toward realizing this goal.”
We are confident that the years of experience that Dr. Sauvé and his team bring to our Richmond location will help us in our goal to make TMS therapy easily accessible to patients and their families and offer the best medical expertise and the latest medical technology in the field of neurology.
Dr. Sauvé believes that “depression is a highly underestimated devastating illness, and one of the worst features is that the illness itself makes it very difficult to do the very things people need to do to get better. At TMS Neurohealth Centers in Richmond, patients will find a group of people eager to help. We like what we do, and we work every day to make it easy for people who need us to find us and to get started making a change.”
